Offshore Inspection Engineer (OIE)

The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection
and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Offshore Inspection Engineer (OIE) to work
on a regular offshore rotational contract in the North Sea sector.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated significant relevant industry experience
with a minimum of 5 years, in-service inspection and assessment of pressure systems.

Successful candidates must possess the following:


  • UKAS RG2 Category 3 (or above)
  • Incorporated Engineer Status or working towards
  • A Combination of two of the following: ASME L2 Plant Inspection, API 570
    or API 510
  • NDT Qualifications incl PCN Level 2 in Ultrasonic (Plate & Pipe)
  • Offshore Survival Certification (BOSIET/FOET in CA-EBS)
  • UKOOA Medical
  • MIST


  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Well-developed negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of relevant standards relative to O&G industry equipment
    and processes
  • Knowledge of NDT and the principles of Risk Based Inspection
  • Knowledge of degradation mechanisms relative to O&G industry
  • Competence in use of computer packages (MS Office, etc.)
  • Positive approach to Compliance Issues (Quality, Health & Safety)
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritise work effectively
  • Good Time management skills
  • Demonstrate all round skills and related technical competency
  • Proficient report writing skills
  • Flexible approach to work
