Doncasters Aerospace Ltd, based at Halfway in Sheffield, are currently recruiting for X-Ray Operatives
for our NDT department. If you hold or previously have held NAS410/EN4179 Level II X-Ray qualifications,
then this could be the role for you.

When you join the team, you will be conducting NDT tests using specific techniques on aerospace
products. You will need to learn and understand the products, equipment set-up, follow specific
operating procedures and interpret and evaluate test results. You will be working alongside the team
on a 3-shift pattern.

The role offers an industry beating basic salary with shift premiums too, free onsite parking, 185 hours
annual holiday entitlement plus statutory holidays and paid breaks.

The Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Review routers, procedures, specifications and any other instructions for
    completeness and instructions to perform the operation

  • Work with x-ray generating equipment

  • Process parts in accordance with procedures and technical
    instructions to evaluate for weld discontinuities

  • Set up, calibrate and perform process control checks on equipment
    by following instructions and record results

  • To generate new/amend NDT data cards for approval by the Level III.
    Interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results as required

  • Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets as required

  • Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements
    (including procedures, specifications etc)

  • Maintain work area, equipment and all documents/records to be audit
    ready at all times

  • Provide on the job training to trainees and fellow level II inspectors
    when required

Do you have?

  • Ability to interpret Standards and Specifications - Essential

  • Currently or previously held EN4179/NAS410 level II X-Ray – Essential

  • Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and other Quality / NDT auditing /
    accreditation systems - Desirable

  • Be able to work accurately in a busy environment and able to organise
    and prioritise effectively - Essential

  • Have excellent attention to detail with an ability to interpret a large amount
    of information – Essential

  • Have an understanding of materials technology within an aerospace
    environment – Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills - Desirable
