Doncasters Aerospace Ltd, based at Halfway in Sheffield, are currently recruiting for an FPI Operative
for our Crack Test department. If you hold or previously have held EN4179/NAS410 level II FPI
qualifications, then this could be the role for you.

When you join the team, you will be responsible for all aspects of NDT FPI on all manufactured parts,
working to efficient standards in a safe and timely manner. You will be working alongside the team
on a 3-shift pattern.

The role offers an industry beating basic salary with shift premiums too, free onsite parking, 185 hours
annual holiday entitlement plus statutory holidays and paid breaks.

The Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Review routings, procedures, specifications and any other instructions for
    completeness and instructions to perform the operation

  • Process parts in accordance with procedures and technical instructions

  • Set up, calibrate and perform process control checks on equipment by following
    instructions and record results

  • To generate new/amend NDT data cards for approval by the Level III

  • Interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results as required

  • Fill out required logs and statistical data sheets as required

  • Maintain required job skills and knowledge of requirements (including procedures,
    specifications etc)

  • Maintain work area, equipment and all documents/records to be audit ready at all times

  • Provide on the job training to trainees and fellow level II inspectors when required

  • Work alongside team members to ensure that daily targets are met.

Do you have?

  • Ability to interpret Standards and Specifications - Essential

  • Currently or previously held EN4179/NAS410 level II FPI - Essential

  • Be able to work accurately in a busy environment and able to organise and
    prioritise effectively - Essential

  • Has excellent attention to detail with an ability to interpret a large amount
    of information – Essential

  • Have an understanding of materials technology within an aerospace
    environment – Desirable

  • Excellent communication skills - Desirable
