British Engineering Services has acquired Salford based inspection company
This represents their first acquisition since gaining independence from insurer
RSA in November last year.
Nortest founded in 1980 will continue to trade from its custom-built laboratory
in Salford with Charles King, Nortest’s Managing Director, taking on the role of
Business Development Manager.
British Engineering Services can claim to be one of the world's oldest inspection
companies, first starting business in 1859 under the title of the Steam Boiler
Assurance Company which was later changed to National Vulcan.
In 1955 National Vulcan became the first inspection company to use an ultrasonic
method to test welds for cracks and flaws.
